Bio

Sheryl L. Sutter photographs Michigan’s Thumb from the shoulder of the road. Her MI Eye on the Thumb Collection, begun in 2016, holds nearly two thousand pictures of barns, fields, rails, and what the season left standing. She lives in Lapeer.

Style

I photograph the Thumb from the shoulder, keep the road’s name, and let the light and the weathered building finish the picture.
